Neutrality dispute[edit]

This article has been expanded recently to include a vast amount of new, albeit uncited, information about Ferriero. First of all, since this is a biographical article, uncited information may either be cited or challenged and removed, per Wikipedia policy. I have added "citation needed" tags, and unless citations are added, I will remove uncited information from the page. Normally I would welcome the addition of new material to an article, but the material added to the Ferriero article seems to be expressly designed to portray Ferriero in a positive light. Ferriero's federal corruption trial is about to begin and suddenly his Wikipedia page is portraying him very positively. The press (specifically PolitickerNJ.com and the Bergen County Record) have picked up on this. Now I don't know who the editors who overhauled this article recently are, and I don't know if they are connected to Ferriero, but the fact of the matter is that their overhaul has made the article strikingly biased. Per Wikipedia policy, big changes need to be made in order to give this article a neutral tone, and as soon as possible. A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 19:21, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Within the last day I removed the most blatant NPOV information. I also tagged two sections, "Personal life" and "Law practice", as having no sources whatsoever. I plan to remove them entirely if reliable sources are not added within a few days. Accurizer (talk) 20:25, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the two sections noted above since references have not been forthcoming. Accurizer (talk) 11:45, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I was the first to begin editing the in depth profile for JF. I have taken a clean copy of previous edits along with original uncited content and began citing. I am aware there are several facts still uncited and we are still research these links. Please let me know if there is still a discrepancy with my post. I will be very proactive in correcting all needs over the next several days. Firmapproach (talk) 2:45, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
As a start, www.christienotfornj.com does not satisfy the requirements for a reliable source. Please stop citing it. Accurizer (talk) 11:02, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Firmapproach, I've also removed a lot of uncited information from the article. Please cite reliable sources if and when you restore said information. Also, I removed two paragraphs which cited websites that did not support the claims in those paragraphs. Please do not restore this information without citing reliable sources that actually support the information in the article. Remember, WP:Burden. Why were the pictures removed? Everything we read says ask for help. Well I am asking for help returning the pictures to the page.

Commons deleted them because there was no license information provided. Only free images can be stored at Commons. Accurizer (talk) 13:10, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If Joe Hosts those images on his website and refers to them would that be an acceptable result for images. Further more there are citations needed for some of Joe's Personal Life section. He has newspaper clippings from as far back as 1955. If they are scanned and posted as resource would that be considered a reliable source?
Probably, assuming the newspaper is a reliable source like The Record. If so, I see no reason why those citations would fail to meet WP:V.

I now consider the neutrality dispute resolved; all the blatantly biased material has been removed from the article, as has most of the uncited information. I certainly hope further citations will be forthcoming, and I have left the BLP tag on the page. However, just to let everyone know, I've officially removed the NPOV tag from the page. He was sentenced to three years. I don't know if someone wants to update it, as I am not a very good writer. http://www.northjersey.com/news/ex-bergen-county-dem-chairman-joseph-ferriero-gets-3-year-sentence-in-corruption-case-1.1467769 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.117.68.158 (talk) 17:28, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
