John Abbott in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue?[edit]

Did John Abbott not actually live in Ste-Annne-de-Bellevue at some point in his life? I believe there is a plaque indicating this located somewhere n the community (perhaps in front of the house in which he lived). Victoriagirl 16:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, he grew up in Argenteuil and lived mostly in Montreal, with a country house in Senneville. You are probably thinking of Simon Fraser House in Ste-Anne. jsbryce 01:33, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Weasel Words[edit]

This article reads like a recruting pitch for this CEGEP rather than as an encyclopedia entry. Phrases like "John Abbott students benefit from a highly dedicated staff responsible for student activities." ITs also achingly inprecise for example "A great deal of activities take place each day around the campus" whats a great deal 10+ 50+ 100,000,000+? This article should stick to facts and cite some sources, since if I knew where the info was coming from I'd go to the source and fix this article myself.

Some of your edits are justified, others are not (i.e. "great deal": big woup. Activities can vary from 0 to 50, hence the imprecision). BTW, some of the sources you want happen to be the John Abbott web site, so no wonder it might "sound like a recruitment flyer".DMZ 14:15, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then we should get a neutral souce. And as to a great deal, encyclopedias are not all about feel good imprecision. It should either be a number or not mentioned. Encyclopedia=precision and facts not feel good propaganda. Any one else object to the edits?

Who ever said anything about feel good imprecision? If anything your comments are biased :/. Besides, how can we ever be certain of anything? Nothing is certain, this is the basis of factual science. So according to you, nothing should be in an encylopedia? I think any relevant and informative information of any good use to anyone should be included, including etsimates on how many activites happen throughout the day.DMZ 00:22, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've since fixed this a long time ago, for the record. —{admin} Pathoschild 15:37:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

In section 2.1 (Students: Composition), it says there are "hundreds" of international students. What is meant by "hundreds"? Are there 300 of them? 400? 800? I'm well aware of the presence of international students, but I don't think the word "hundreds" is appropriate. It makes it sound like there might be more than there actually are. mj_sklar (talk) 15:21, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sports teams section[edit]

some of it goes into such unneeded detail, such as random stats. i'll fix 76.68.188.106 (talk) 17:21, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Old Photo[edit]

Is it really worth it to include the 1940s photo, over two decades before John Abbott was created? jsbryce 01:41, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
