Dolan Center

When we state, "The Dolan Science center is widely considered one of the premiere science facilities in the Midwest" my question is: in relationship to what? To a building at the University of Illinois or University of Michigan? How is the use of the word "premier" being used here and can some further clarification be added as to why it is special? (--unsigned by 147.8.17.55 01:21, 2 September 2005 (UTC))

Well, yes, in fact, it is one of the best buildings in the midwest for science research, including anything found on Michigan's campus. It may not be as big (although it is over 360,000 sq. ft.) as anything on UM's campus, but is packs a lot of scientific research punch. The Cleveland Clinic is currently leasing space. I would prefer to see that "premier" comment cited, however. Go Streaks! --Daysleeper47 19:59, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Core

I changed the section of the core to say "religious studies" instead of "theology." Although the difference is subtle, John Carroll technically doesn't have theology courses.--Mickeyg13 17:01, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

New Headers

I added many new headers. I would like to see this article fill out and be much more authoritative. I will work on that in the near future. Please help contribute! --Daysleeper47 17:50, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Housing

I added the housing header back because I felt that because JCU is such a resident school (as opposed to a communter school) they deserve a special header.--Daysleeper47 19:17, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Press section

What's to go in the press section?

  • That has been deleted. I took these headers from another university who published, but since Carroll doesn't have a press, we shouldnt have that header. --Daysleeper47 19:42, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

JCU page

Typing in "JCU" automatically takes one to James Cook University page. I posted on the discussion page that maybe that page should be a disambigulation and include John Carroll

  • I took care of it. It now leads to a disambiguation page where one can select James Cook or John Carroll.--Daysleeper47 14:50, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Image

The image used on this page is fair use and could easily be replaced by a GFDL image taken by anyone in the area or on campus. It's not a great picture anyway--it's tiny and the highlights are blown. Would someone mind taking one? The current image will eventually be deleted as part of our effort to reduce non-free image use. Thanks. Chick Bowen 22:19, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Tim DeGeeter

To whoever keeps removing Tim DeGeeter from the list of government/politics alumni, can you please explain why? A member of the State House should be on that list. --Daysleeper47 12:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Jcu seal small.jpg

Image:Jcu seal small.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Conflicting numbers of majors

Currently the lead says

John Carroll offers 70 academic programs of study for undergraduate students.

But then the section John Carroll University#College of Arts and Sciences says

John Carroll University's College of Arts and Sciences offers its students 31 majors and 28 minors.

and the section John Carroll University#Boler College of Business says

The John M. and Mary Jo Boler College of Business offers seven majors, as well as several minors.

These must be implicitly defining programs of study as majors or minors; otherwise the numbers don't come close to adding up. But I can't see how these numbers match the lists of programs given in the official website. Can someone please clarify the article or alter the stated number of programs?
