Untitled[edit]

John Moyse exemplifies what a British service person should do in the face of enemy interrogation, torture and withholding of TV priviledges. The cowardly RN personnel who kissed Mahmoud's Iranian ass should be court-martialed for their cowardly and traitorous behavior. They should be ashamed to wear the same uniform as John Moyse.

Agreed on all counts. However, this line probably doesn't belong in the actual article; editorializing is usually elsewhere.

"His personal bravery - and its celebration by his fellow soldiers and countrymen - stands in marked contrast to the less exalted present of Her Majesty's Royal Navy." 131.191.58.157 14:49, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't his name spelled "Moyes"? --62.25.109.195 16:30, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This story is most assuredly apocryphal. Several participants in the campaign, including General Hope Grant, denied that it ever had happened. The anecdote is interesting only for what it says regarding British jingoism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erikringmar (talkcontribs) 03:05, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wonder if it's worth referring to the mention of this in the book Flashman and the Dragon MacDonald Fraser, George (2006). Flashman and the Dragon. London: Harper Collins. p. 151.
