I am moving here the following sentence that I have just written based in the reference provided since I have found another reference that goes against it (McLeod John Ridley Stroop: Creator of a landmark cognitive task. Canadian Psychology, 32, 521-524 also in here)

He was so disentangled from his previous work in psychology that in 1964 he was unaware of the widespread fame of his experimental task.^[1]
