Lyric interpretation DELETE[edit]

I got rid of the section of lyrical interpretation because it had a lot of language regarding "some people" and "some fans" without any sources. If you wrote it and feel that it is worthwhile to mention, than you should cite.

Other double A-sides from DM[edit]

QUOTE: he single is the first UK double A-side release by the band since "Blasphemous Rumours / Somebody" in 1984.

While this is true, it should be noted it is actually the third double A-side release overall. The other being "Home"/"Useless," released in the US market in 1998. 72.132.36.31 20:40, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Origins?[edit]

I'm pretty sure the song "John the Revelator" has been around for years, and there should be something redirecting to an article on the song or it's origins. 130.127.78.152 17:41, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

seconded - This is an interesting song with some very interesting lyics. A history on it is greatly needed. Sweetfreek 19:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a completely different song. I'm listening to the Blind_Willie_Johnson version (1930) right now--it's in Vol. 2 of the Anthology_of_American_Folk_Music. See John the Revelator (song). Billbrock 03:36, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The title and call-and-response chorus places the song squarely in the tradition of the Son House. Other artists have taken off from the original but I think it deserves a mention. I'll write a little sumthin' sumthin. Jackbox1971 04:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you think it's a completely different song than the original then you are either deaf or being stubborn through a developed bias. It's clear of the intent through the lyrics and phrasing that it is inspired by the original. 74.138.134.42 (talk) 14:16, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:John the Revelator - Lilian LCDBONG38.jpg[edit]

Image:John the Revelator - Lilian LCDBONG38.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
