Manager or coach?[edit]

I would go for coach. From Manager (association football): "The title of manager is almost exclusively used in British football. In the majority of countries where professional football is played, the person responsible for the direction of a team is awarded the position of coach or "trainer". Change to Sporting CP[edit]

He has now been confirmed by Sporting CP chairman as the new manager with a 3yr contract.

Benfica contract ends on 30 June. Jesus will be presented on 1 July. Please check Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Doubt. SLBedit (talk) 20:25, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
According to the Portuguese media we can now say that he joined another club. SLBedit (talk) 12:31, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change Judas?[edit]

Is there any reason why his surname should be Judas and not Jesus? WadeSimMiser (talk) 22:37, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Judas" is a pejorative nickname for his "betrayal" (move to Sporting). SLBedit (talk) 17:58, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect honours[edit]

Amora FC did not won the Portuguese Second Division in 1991/92. The club won that tittle two seasons later and Jesus was not the manager. Portuguese 3rd tier was divided into three zones: North, Center, South. The three winners of this zones would play a play-off to see who was the Second Division Champion. Amora did not win, they came in 3rd place.

There is a source but it is unreliable and has factual errors. The reference says that "O primeiro clube que treinou foi o Amora, clube no qual alcançou o seu primeiro título, o de campeão da III Divisão" (The firt club he managed was Amora, the club where he achieved his first title, champion of THIRD DIVISION). NOT SECOND DIVISION, THIRD. The Portuguese Third division was the 4th tier in portuguese football. There is no record of Jesus winning any Third Division, Amora FC only won a III Division in 2000–01. Even if the source was reliable, which it isn't, the information the information on the honours section does not match the source.

@MYS77: To avoid edit warring, can you remove that information yourself? P3DRO (talk) 19:48, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it clearly depends on what are you guys considering an accolade. Did he win the II Divisão with Amora? Not quite. He won the Segunda Divisão - Zona Sul with Amora, but, as described by @P3DRO above, the overall championship was won by Campomaiorense. Felgueiras came second and Amora came third. @SLBedit: You both should discuss whether this should stay or not. Until that "consensus" arrive, I'll just do a quick fix in Jesus' honours to correct that information. Cheers, MYS77 20:46, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
