Possible death[edit]

I noticed that Rivera is claimed to be alive but other sources said that he died last October 14, 2022 at 62. His son posted on Facebook about his father's death. I personally gave my condolences to his son. The cause of death is unknown. One site called Last Word On Sports reported that he passed away. The only site that said that. Please does someone else have another osurce of death other than Facebook post. Kingzwest (talk) 2:31, 2 March 2023 (UTC)(talk)

Evidently, you didn't read the entire piece. It starts out by repeating a tweet reporting that death. There's no indication whatsoever that the tweet originated from a credentialed journalistic outlet. Therefore, use "source" rather loosely. Moreover, you'll find the following paragraph toward the end:

Be sure not to confuse him with Jose Luis Rivera, best known to WWF fans as one half of Los Conquistadores. While he has a Wikipedia profile and a more noted online profile, Jose Rivera himself does not in spite of the amazing success for his time.

Don't get me started on how WP:PW feels no obligation to cover the breadth of their chosen subject area. The piece stated that the Rivera they speak of quietly retired from the business in 1982 as a result of accumulated injuries. The IWC is very good at not acknowledging wrestlers whose careers predate its existence. In summary, the piece is referring to a different Jose Rivera, arguably a far more important figure in the history of the business in spite of his lack of association with the IWC's usual alphabet soup of cherry-picked federations. Hi Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions , My bad sorry! It very confusing because other sites such as Wrestligndata claimed that this Rivera also wrestled in 1970/1971 in the WWWF. This Riviera was 10/11 years old at the time. A year ago I fixed up the article because it said that this Rivera wrestled in 1971 and I said that is probably somebody else cause he started in 1976. Wrestlingdata now has verified that. I wonder when they started this profile was the guy that died and someone horsed around with it saying that it was Riviera from WWF. Really confusing. You should have taken his death down cause it's still on his profile. I thank you for solving this mystery.Kingzwest (talk) 18:51, 2 March 2023 (UTC)(talk)[reply]

Another Problem[edit]

I have solved some issues so did User talk:RadioKAOS. Here are the issues:

1. Jose Luis Riviera (born 1960 worked in WWF as Los Conqusitor and Red Demon in WCW in the 1980s and early 1990s. Claims to still be alive. Started in 1977 and retired in 1994. 2. We have Jose Santiago who died last October probably 70s or 80s. He started his career circa 1970 and worked in the WWWF from 1970-1971 and worked in Japan, NWA, Mexico, and Puerto Rico as Hurricane Rivera and El Invader. Retired in 1983. 3. We have a death here on our hands. 4. Back in 2015 when this article started by User:Ezequiel Matias Acosta I believe he mixed up information from both Riveras from 1970 and WWF 1980s tenure. Can you get this sorted out. When you started this article were yoou thinking of the Los Coniquastor version and got confused witht he other? Please reply back and get this solved.Kingzwest (talk) 19:03, 2 March 2023 (UTC)(talk)[reply]
