first female minister for TN[edit]

yes. they are saying rajaji wants a puppet and appoints her so that he can control her. Her appointment was one of the first acts rajaji did after andhra split from TN and congress had an unshakable majority in the Madras state assembly. He was sort of a dictator in these issues - had to have his way in all things. Till 1 october 53, he had to depend on his various factions (vanniyars, KMPP split, independent defectors et al) and kept quiet. Once andhra was formed and he got a clear majority in the remaining legislature, he did this. This was the beginning of the faction fight that ended in Kamaraj ousting him in march 54.--Sodabottle (talk) 06:42, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
