Malaysia[edit]

Yes this should be explained. I looked at the reference, which is just the IMDB article. can't find any info on the malaysian ban on the site, but perhaps I haven't looked hard enough. If someone can get more info on this... Munin75 (talk) 01:11, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Soldier nationality[edit]

The soldiers were not Scottish, they are British. Scotland has not existed as a sovereign nation since 1707 when it became part of the Kingdom of Great Britian, the soldiers were all from Britain but that soldiers particular nationality within Britain was Scottish. Those soldiers WERE Scottish; they were all from Scotland. Yes, they're ALSO British. But it's not incorrect to say that they're Scottish. I'm from Virginia, and Virginia isn't a sovereign nation (although it should be). Is it therefore incorrect to say that I'm a Virginian?

They were under the Juristiction of the BRITISH ARMY, not the 'Scottish Army' - because there is no such thing, in military terms you would not be called the Virginian Army just because you were from Virginia would you? BritBoy (talk) 23:58, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But they were Scotsmen who were soldiers in the army of the United Kingdom. You can see that they're specifically a Scottish regiment — it's not like every unit in the British Expeditionary Force was provided with bagpipers or tartan hats. Nyttend (talk) 05:51, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gordon's nationality has been reverted back to Scots without explanation. I'm reverting this edit. I agree with BritBoy that the correct nationality is British, of which Scotland is part. No-one seems to be suggesting that the German and French officers should be described as Prussian or Breton (for example). Yorkist (talk) 09:46, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And the Germans were Prussians from the 93rd Infantry Regiment.
