Question about letter[edit]

Would it be appropriate to quote from this letter, even though there is no official translation, or is that original research:

Thanks for answering. This article is terrible at the moment, it really needs a lot of work. Jozias van Aartsen is one of the most important figures in Dutch politics in the last decade... he definitely deserves a better article. 217.117.170.243 22:28, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question about letter[edit]

Hi unknown,

I do not think Wiki is served with a copy in Dutch of the letter or extensive quoting from it. I think it is important to include in the article the key points with a reference to a Dutch text for fact checking V8rik 22:29, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS typing 4 tildes (~) in a row prints your name and time-of-edit.

To the anonymous user: please go ahead and improve the article if you feel it is not good enough, just make sure you keep the Wikipedia:Manual of Style into consideration. Regarding the letter, I think if the article was expanded substantially then it could play a role, but to add a lot of information about it into this stub doesn't seem like a good idea to me. jacoplane 22:35, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The letter is an interesting political document. Why not translating it into English and putting it on Wikisource? In that way it becomes a reliable published source from which you can quote or to which you can refer. Michel Doortmont (talk) 14:39, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
