The result of the move request was: Moved to Juan José Cañas (footballer) as proposed below — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:23, 5 November 2019 (UTC) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:23, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Juan José Cañas GutiérrezJuanjo CañasWP:COMMONNAME, most references and external links list him with this name. When they don't, refer to him as Juan José Cañas. His second last name is hardly ever used. Ortizesp (talk) 20:24, 17 October 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. Sceptre (talk) 23:23, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, Juanjo Cañas is a name/nickname compound. It would be like naming an article "Ricardo Kaká", or "Ronaldinho Assis". And Footballdatabase is not a reliable source, I think.
A good move in my book would be to rename "Juan José Cañas", to differentiate from his nephew. --Quite A Character (talk) 09:13, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's quite the same as your example, this ref - http://www.elcornerdelsur.com/juanjo-canas-toda-una-vida-lucha-entrega-verdiblanco/ - lists him as Juanjo Cañas.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:29, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We could also create a disambiguation page at Juan José Cañas as neither page is WP:PRIMARYTOPIC.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:29, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that that source (El Corner del Sur) refers to him as such does not mean it's correct. I have heard as, on several Spanish broadcasts, commentators idiotically refer to Isco as "Isco Alarcón", another name/nickname compound and as wrong as it seems. Back in the day, you moved Tarantini (footballer) to "Tarantini Monteiro", 200% wrong (as the ones mentioned above, commentators in my country are as dumb as they come, addressing players as "Pedro Pauleta", "Pedro Mantorras", "Nuno Capucho", etc, etc).
My vote stands at "Juan José Cañas (footballer)", let's wait for more inputs --Quite A Character (talk) 19:33, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Support this as an alternative.--Ortizesp (talk) 15:12, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
