Recording of the June 6, 1944 order of the day

... that Dwight D. Eisenhower's June 6, 1944 order of the day stated "we accept nothing less than full victory!"? The whole speech is quoted in Eisenhower, Dwight David (1970). This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline and either hook could be used, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. I have no idea about the copyright status of the audio clip. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:10, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Cwmhiraeth. The clip is a recording made by Eisenhower in his role as supreme commander and comes from the US Army Youtube channel. As such it is a work by a US Army employee in an official capacity and is public domain as a work of the US federal government - Dumelow (talk) 06:58, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment by Gobanian[edit]

I removed a sentence claiming there were talks by exiled Kings of Norway Holland and Belgium. The King of Belgium was not exiled; he stayed there through the war. The Netherlands, which is the correct title for the country, did not have a King but a Queen. Hi Gobanian, thanks for spotting this. I have since corrected the article -it should have been the leaders of the governments-in-exile, I misinterpreted the source. A couple of pointers:

When you removed the text from the article you also removed the named reference (everything inside the <ref> and </ref> tags. Please don't do this as it left many other statements in the article without a reference.
Please be careful when you add comments to talk pages, I have moved your comment to its own section as it had been added before Keith's comment above and looked to be attributed to him
Finally, please try to phrase your comments in a constructive way. We are all volunteers here, trying to improve the encyclopaedia. I've been here a long time and have a thick enough skin not to be bothered but it could put off new editors. Please see Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. We need to encourage editors, not discourage them, for this project to be a success
