Controversy[edit]

Just recently Pretty Ricky was on the air and apparently an F Bomb and S Bomb may have been dropped and the station may be facing an FCC violation. This was during the 6 to 10 slot with Tha Goodfellas. More research please. I will post my findings if any at all.

Signal Strength[edit]

Does anyone know if KDAY improved their signal strengh, because on the Radio & Records website, It mentions KDAY celebrating it's signal improvement tommorrow, along with the one-year anniversary of broadcasting The Steve Harvey Show. Does anyone have any more info on it, like how long it stretches to? Peecee1978 00:49, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:KDAY-FM.jpg[edit]

Image:KDAY-FM.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:48, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could Harvey be dropped soon?[edit]

Since KDAY has altered its format from urban to rhythmic, there may be a stong possibility that Steve Harvey's morning show may be dropped soon. He has been successful in LA radio I admit dating back from when he was on The Beat, otherwise its a radio thing nowadays the drop a syndicated show and replace it with a local one. But there are two other rhythmic top 40 stations that do carry Harvey: KHTE in Little Rock, Arkansas and WCZQ In Champaign, Illinois. It goes to show that California does not really care for urban syndicated shows like the rest of the eastern half of the U.S. does (KISQ in San Francisco dropped Tom Joyner, the new KKBT as an Urban AC did same thing recently, KBMB dropped Doug Banks due to new ownership). Even rhythmic stations that once in a while play old school music don't really play R&B and classic soul in a continuous amount of time in a given day unlike an urban or urban ac. 172.129.186.136 22:59, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KDAY went back to a Mainstream Urban format[edit]

As of yesterday kday changed formats from rhythmic back to a Mainstream Urban format and the steve harvey show remains on kday. as of not to long ago kday adopted the kwie call letters. kday 93.5 is southern california's only superstation the only pure Mainstram Urban station in Los Angeles.

Split apart[edit]

Stations KDAY and KWIE are currently simulcasting but both stations have long independent histories, each sufficiently notable for a standalone article. Indeed, given the complicated changes in call letters and frequencies over the years, having these two stations sharing one article only needlessly complicates both the technical and historical components. - Dravecky (talk) 06:56, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bishop, CA.[edit]

You know its funny for a long time KDAY was the Call Letters for radio station in Bishop, CA. but then it switched to KSRW and its not even in any of this.

Note to editors and contributors[edit]

Please read what's actually on the page and, more to the point, in the paragraphs. In the struggle to get all the necessary information on the page, let's not forget that it still has to read clearly and not be redundant or contradictory. No disrespect to any other editors, but let's not contribute just for the sake of contributing.Kuahmel (talk) 23:45, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Yesitsnot (talk) 09:32, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Synchrocasting?[edit]

I believe the common industry term as of now is "simulcasting". 24.18.135.152 (talk) 22:00, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge KDEY-FM into KDAY and change to KDEY[edit]

These pages are dupe of one another and refer to the same station. Also, KDAY is just pronounced "K day." The station is actually KDEY. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.147.18.59 (talk) 23:34, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
