Why this article?[edit]
As some people may question the right of existence of this article, I'd like to give reasons why I created it in the first place. There is an interesting category Patriotic songs by country. As a lot of peole are interested in the subject, the category should contain as many songs as possible. With regard to Wagner, one may assert that he did not write single patriotic songs but that his operas do instead contain such pieces. And this article mentions the most notorious instances of Wagnerian patriotism. If this explanation does, however, not satisfy the vast majority of editors, it may of course very well be deleted. -- Orthographicus (talk) 18:11, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
