Place of significant celebration[edit]

I think the celebration at Kasipur may be bigger than that at Dakshineswar. It is there that the original incident took place, and devotees may enter the room in which Sri Ramakrishna lived (and died) on that day. Sri Ramakrishna lived there for about 11 months. Festivities go on for three days. Devadaru (talk) 03:26, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to improve the article, adding references as appropriate. I have no special expertise on this topic, but tried to improve the article when it was in danger of being deleted. Cullen328 (talk) 03:52, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Kripal's Kali's Child is, well, controversial. He has been accused of major mis-translations. Perhaps some other references could be brought in, like to Saradananda's Lilaprasanga (translated as the Great Master and also as Divine Play). Devadaru (talk) 03:29, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that this book is controversial, but it was the only English language source I could find independent of the Ramakrishna movement that discusses the origins of Kalpataru Day in depth. Please feel free to add quotes from these other references, but be sure to cite them properly. Cullen328 (talk) 03:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The sources / citations in this article don't seem reliable.[edit]

The sources / citations in this article don't seem reliable. Have excised much of them. Lord Alan B'stard (talk) 02:17, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please be much more specific, Lord Alan B'stard. Why did you gut the article instead of improving it? Cullen328 (talk) 02:34, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I felt the citations were not up to Wikipedia's high standards. As a heavy user of Wikipedia, but an occasional editor, I have a duty to ensure that readers like myself are not mislead by poor quality articles based on controversial and poor-quality sources. In any case, the meat of the article is retained along with the further reading section for those interested. Lord Alan B'stard (talk) 03:43, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. I see I have been roll backed.. Lord Alan B'stard (talk) 03:54, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IPs have been removing the remaining sources (to The Hindu and My Kolkata). I believe both of these to be RS, at least for the relatively uncontroversial content that these sources are being used for. See WP:THEHINDU in particular for the former. IPs, please discuss here your concerns, and please do not use edit summaries to make personal attacks as you did in [1]. Jfire (talk) 20:28, 1 March 2023 (UTC) .
