Spelling

I see where an alternate spelling of Kamal Hassan has been provided with a reference to an article in the Indian Express but I think that's a misspelling too. In his early days he used to be KamalaHaasan கமலஹாசன் and while he might have broken it up into two parts I don't think Hassan as a last name was ever correct given that he never became a follower of the Islamic faith. He is a professed atheist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumithar (talkcontribs) 15:58, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

This article will give an idea of what's missing: R._Madhavan. Further, the lack of in-text references and lack of biography do no favours for this article. Ncmvocalist 15:56, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Name

His born name is Kamal Haasan only. Some people label his name as Parthasarathy, but it is not a born name it is nickname. Ajayrangaraj (talk) 04:14, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Ajayrangaraj, This TOI source says he was named as Parthasarathy Srinivasan. Another source from Scroll.in says his father later changed his name to Kamal Haasan. His current name is also given by his parents and it's confusing which one is his Birth name. - SUN EYE 1 05:33, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Suneye1 & Cyphoidbomb, In a YouTube channel interview in 2018 he says his original name Kamal Haasan, Parthasarathy is incorrect (see the interview after 2 min 30 sec [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGCs0XdF5q0#t=2m45s]). At the age of 4 he starred in the film Kalathur Kannamma (1960) that film mentioned his name as Kamal Haasan. He studied at Sir MCD Muthiah Chettiar Boys School, Chennai, his name is mentioned in the certificate as Kamal Haasan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajayrangaraj (talkcontribs) 07:50, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Since it's unclear, it might be wise to avoid the inclusion in the infobox and lede, but mention it elsewhere, like in the Early life section, that his parents called him Parthasarathy. That said, in the interview, he does say that his father changed his name "in the gazette", so maybe someone should find that name change announcement... Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:59, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
