Contestants[edit]

Should we list each and every contestant? --Howard the Duck 10:56, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but I think the only relevant contestants are the celebrity ones. We all know that all game shows here in the Philippines have celebrity editions. - 上村七美 | talk 11:08, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to remove it, but unless someone objects, and I'd be deleting them by Saturday. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of data. --Howard the Duck 23:59, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi, i found this page courtesy of pinoyexchange. it would be ok if you remove the non-celebrity contestants, however, i think a lot of people would also find it amusing if non-celebrity contestants and their game details will be included. very nice page you got there John earlm 19:25, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I somewhat agree, the non-celebs may have to go. --Howard the Duck 05:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

if that is the case, maybe you could just provide a webpage of all contestants until the show ends. so that you wont have to place the names of all the contestants here. remember that the non-celebs are somewhat doing better than the celebs. if it's 11 weeks run, it's like having 55 contestants. if putting 55 names in the wikipedia names is lengthy, then i suggest that you come-up with a webpage of the names and details of their games John earlm 13:27, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, although Wikipedia shouldn't have the info on each and every contestant, let alone have their names listed (see WP:NOT, it is not my responsibility to list them all (however, you can host one and link it at external links, that'll be good enough for the WP:EL policy). However, if this show has an official website, we can add them on the external links section. But if a record was broken, we can mention it on the records section. --Howard the Duck 14:00, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess having the names listed of all contestants will do, just list their names and amounts won. 202.124.146.180 21:32, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello all, we are currently conducting a research project to Deal or No Deal at a university in the Netherlands. Since we are from the Netherlands and cannot receive the Phillipinean version here, we hope that some of you could help us. We are namely looking for everything which has happened in every episode of Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal so far. Could you maybe post each and every episode and contestant here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbuniversity (talkcontribs)

HI, I'm a university student doing a thesis on KDND. I find all of the info on this page very useful. I understand why some think the article needs editing (being that it is an wikipedia entry and should be concise.) However, such a move will deprive researchers (like me and the above poster) of information that they may need in their studies--info that they might have a hard time finding anywhere else. I guess in the field of academics and research, I believe that too much info is always better than too little. It's easier to whittle something down than to expand it since one might not have the means to find the missing info. Anyway, if indeed the article is to be edited, I hope the deleted info finds its way on some other website which can be linked to. Kudos to the person who maintains this article. I am amazed at how fast he/she updates this site.

Models[edit]

Methinks the models can be listed. But its just me. --Howard the Duck 11:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To me, the 26K aren't yet as famous as their counterparts in the American version (who are even recognized by People Magazine and Entertainment Tonight). So it's better not to list them yet; we don't even know their surnames yet, either. But like you, it's also my opinion. - 上村七美 | talk 11:40, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
26K? So that's how they're called? hehehe... but I won't push for thier inclusion, but they're part of a cast, so perhaps it can be mentioned that they're called as "26K". --Howard the Duck 11:45, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Part 2[edit]

I'm tired of reverting back and forth, and it would be harmless if we add them, after all the reason why they are "popular" is because of this program, so why not give them a section? --Howard the Duck 12:58, 24 August 2006 (UTC) *Waves white flag* - 上村七美 | talk 12:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Part 3[edit]

As you have seen, I have removed the models section from the article. I've done this becuase not only is it outdated as it did not list the latest models, it is also potential hotbed for vandalism and edit wars. I'm sorry, but recent edits forced me to do this. - 上村七美 | talk 07:24, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am removing the sprawling model list as per not policy. These people are not "that" notable for their inclusion hence it is ridiculous to enumerate each and every one of them. It is enough that the show presents models who possess briefcases. Listing each of their names violates the wiki policy †Bloodpack† 12:11, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exchange rate?[edit]

What's the exchange rate used? --Howard the Duck 04:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but probably the editors were unaware of the current exchange rate. I reckon that the exchange rate used as P55.00 to a dollar. We have to update those dollar values.- 上村七美 | talk 05:35, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
...or we can state the exchange rate at the time it was added. Updating the dollar values into their present rates can be cumbersome. --Howard the Duck 08:19, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can agree. That's more convenient that constantly updating the dollar equivalents. - 上村七美 | talk 14:11, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
yes, please use the exchange rate of $1=Php52.00. i think that's the safest exchange rate. talk 19:26, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Records & Statistics[edit]

Hello all, we are currently conducting a research project to Deal or No Deal at a university in the Netherlands. Since we are from the Netherlands and cannot receive the Phillipinean version here, we hope that some of you could help us. We are namely looking for everything which has happened in every episode of Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal so far. Could you maybe post that here, or go to my useraccount: Gbuniversity. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbuniversity (talkcontribs)

I hope it can be sustained well. :-) Howard, please do update it, I don't get to watch the show daily. Kudos for this very much detailed page, very much similar to the US version. John earlm 17:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't watch this show quite often too. Well the anons are doing all the updating, cleaning it up would be easier.
Could the top 5 etc. be removed because they're not strictly "records". --Howard the Duck 15:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you ask me, I'll say no. It's quite interesting to keep track of the top 5 etc., especially since the show is until August 25, plus it can be a "statistic". But you have the discretion of course, I just hope you'll consider. John earlm 17:23, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So the show will end on August 25? --Howard the Duck 13:53, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it seems it will end on August 25, to give way to Pinoy Dream Academy. John earlm 15:22, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As for the top 5, I don't think anybody needs lists of top and bottom five prizes. One will only need the highest and lowest prizes. - 上村七美 | talk 17:30, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, the show will not end on August 25, because Pinoy Dream Academy will air on Studio 23 not on ABS-CBN. I saw the commercial on ABS-CBN and Studio 23 that Pinoy Dream Academy will air on August 25, 2006 on Studio 23 --chris 09:11, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, it's the KDOND and ABS-CBN people themselves who confirmed that the game show will conclude on August 25. Also, Pinoy Dream Academy will only air a Studio 23 Primer but the formal start of PDA at ABS-CBN's primetime block is on August 28. PDA will do the same thing as Pinoy Big Brother, meaning it will have its primetime airing and Studio 23 monday-thursday and saturday specials. John earlm 13:38, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The show is extended for two more weeks, as confirmed by the host.203.131.166.154 19:04, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It was mentioned already in the article. --Howard the Duck 09:35, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Currently, there are 8 fair use images in the article. When compared to the longer U.S. version, (which has 5 images), is it an overkill? Are we abridging ABS-CBN's copyright here? Not to mention several images tagged by orphanbot. --Howard the Duck 13:55, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the only relevant images are the one with the money board, the one with Rico Robles, and the parody image. The others can be explained by text alone. So I think it is overkill. - 上村七美 | talk 14:16, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded some of the images, but if you guys say it's an overkill, then I have no choice but to agree with the suggestion of Nanami Kamimura. Retain the Rico Robles, money board, and parody image. John earlm 16:34, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lets the retain the 26K hehehe. If anybody wants to delete those permanently, you can list them at WP:IFD. --Howard the Duck 07:47, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Opening of briefcases section[edit]

Can somebody add the odds? That'll make it more interesting, like the one shown on the 2006 NBA Draft. --Howard the Duck 03:25, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually (if it helps), it has been already discussed in the main article. - 上村七美 | talk 12:34, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If it can't be added, then the section will be useless; it has been discussed on other sections. --Howard the Duck 01:28, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Banker's Antics[edit]

Why was it gone?

Apparently, no use was seen in it. BRING IT BACK! The UK article details most of the antics of its banker! 69.22.12.189 02:58, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Some notable antics of the banker are in the trivia section. Berserkerz Crit 11:55, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationwide ratings[edit]

Can someone add a link? If there's no link it's as good as no reference, and as for being "#1 TV program" says a lot, we should cite this properly. --Howard the Duck 03:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can remove the "#1 TV program" part. But the ratings are posted in a broadsheet with no online version. Is it not a good valid reference? John earlm 14:50, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For one, I don't see that daily you referring to at the corner newstand. --Howard the Duck 05:11, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Last call[edit]

Unless someone really comes up with a proof of that news item, the section will be gone for good (like scans, or another news source). --Howard the Duck 16:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the ratings. Unless there is an online source, I think it is just making the program feel good. - 上村七美 | talk 17:01, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. 10:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Very Long Article... Needs Re-Writing[edit]

This is a very long article and needs a complete rewrite...

Season 2[edit]

Season 2 is coming up. Should we seperate it? Or one article? Madapaka 00:44, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article stays as a whole. However, any celebrity trivia will be going to its respective article since the stat article was deleted. - 上村七美 | talk 10:05, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ok, i think that'll be better. :) 76.21.20.210 02:58, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of jackpot winners[edit]

Instead of "Million Peso Winners", i changed the section's title to "List of jackpot winners" to avoid awkward use of the term "million dollar". Also the contents are changed to a tabular format to avoid prejudicial language and express data simpler than using articles.

Banker's identity[edit]

Can somebody know who the Banker was in Deal or No Deal?

A bridge connect between the main stage and the player's companion area[edit]

I've noticed that there's a bridge between the main stage where the player and the host is and the player's companion area. Should I add it on the "New Changes of the season 3" sector? I think a bridge was made if the player's companion are calling out to the stage. That's what I've notice. Dehm46 (talk) 16:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Final episode[edit]

When will be the final episode of Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal? Kevzspeare (talk) 06:28, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kris mentioned in an interview that the show's third season will last until Christmas, but we can't be sure. Let's wait for an announcement. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 08:55, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
