Wrong tribe in photo[edit]

The couple in this photo are members of the Nambikwara tribe. If one looks closely they can see the sign "Karaja" is for the next stand over. Karajas don't use nosepins and their armbands are made with feathers.

I agree cool photo, perhaps I'll add it to the Nambikwara page. There are some good pix of Karajas on Flickr. Would be kosher to upload one of them? Isn't all stuff on it considered public domain unless otherwise indicated? I could also ask the photographer's permission. Lenbrazil (talk) 12:01, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I find WikiMedia to be more confusing than Wikipedia, but they have an "upload wizard" to walk you through the steps. When you search on Flickr, you can click "advanced search," then click on the boxes that say "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content" — "Find content to use commercially" and "Find content to modify, adapt, or build upon." Instead of putting work directly into Public Domain, a lot of folks release their images under the "CC BY-SA 2.0" license, which is fine for Wiki use.
