Please see: Talk:Middle Tamil#Sharp contradiction between Middle Tamil and Old Malayalam articles. There's some indication that Karintamil is also involved.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  08:54, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

fringe view[edit]

The Krishna Menon source claim of 3100 BC date for Karintamil is ludicrous. Also the examples it gives as evidence for that period are in fact much later, such as the late medieval Tamil poems by Kulasekhara Alvar. Finally, the description of a 'strong admixture of Tamil in it' is very misleading. The dialect was described as Karin-tamil, it was a form of Tamil unique to Kerala. Menon's claim is not a scientific description of the language at all, and it contradicts all the more reliable sources which can be found on the Malayalam main page.Metta79 (talk) 19:48, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
