Age discrepancy[edit]

"On April 13, 1814, at the age of 12, he became a doctor of philosophy at the University of Giessen in Germany." Yet his birthdate is given as July 1, 1800, which would have made him 13 y 286 d at the time. Guinness, however, has indeed credited his record-setting age at 12 in every edition I've read. --Anshelm '77 (talk) 22:20, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
