Rejected merge[edit]

  • Merging with original "Moonstone" file

Obviously as stated on the article page, it has been sugested that this article be merged with Nefarius, the first Moonstone.

The Nefarius article is quite short, perhaps that article can be put at the bottom of the current Moonstone article. It makes sense but are there any other suggestions?

I would vote strongly against that. Nefarius and Moonstone are very different characters. I cannot see the basis for a merge - they may share some history but there is no crossover in their names or anything like that. If Nefarius is to be merged with another article, it seems to me that there would be a much stronger case for doing so with the Count Nefaria article. Hueysheridan 03:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would vote strongly against also. They're conceptually separate entities --El benito 20:26, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Against too (indeed, it was me who originally split them) - SoM 21:31, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TBOLTS109 cov col.jpg[edit]

Image:TBOLTS109 cov col.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with File:Thunderbolts30.png[edit]

The image File:Thunderbolts30.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Moonstone (comics)Karla Sofen – This name was also notably used by Lloyd Bloch, which deserves more than a disambiguation header even if he changed his alias to Nefarius. Karla Sofen was the only name of the character for years, and she also ditched 'Moonstone' to use Meteorite / Ms. Marvel, so it makes sense to use her original name WITHOUT parenthesis, rather than to need to list Moonstone with (comics) parenthesized. Creator?[edit]

So in Captain America #192 by Wolfman and Robbins, "Karla" appears in a few panels as a blond henchwoman of Doctor Faustus. She has maybe three lines, is referred to by name exactly once, and that's it. Shouldn't Stern, Gillis, and Sal Buscema, who wrote and drew her second appearance and created literally everything distinctive about the character, be listed as at least co-creators? Like, Robbins drew a blonde woman, and Buscema came up with the actual costume and Stern and Gillis came up with almost all her backstory, powers, etc. john k (talk) 15:56, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not exactly a unique situation with comic book characters. Several villains and supporting characters started out as fairly generic characters, with most of their unique or distinctive traits, backstories, or memorable relationships added by someone else. On the hero/protagonist side, characters like the Scarlet Witch, Hellcat, and Mockingbird were essentially reinvented by Steve Englehart, who added to them new powers, skills, and personality traits.
