Katana's Children[edit]

The bio does not state that Katana's children, Yuki and Reiko, died. However the bio box on the right states that they have deceased. How did that happen? Artemisboy 16:36, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:KatanaOYL.jpg[edit]

Image:KatanaOYL.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Sucide Squad[edit]

Why does the mentioning that she appeared in Suicide Squad need an extra paragraph? Not only are the events during her appeaance described in the "Family debt" paragraph, but the Squad paragraph is also at the end of her biography, making it appear like it happened recently. Live-action appearance?[edit]

We need references from reliable sources to connect the character from the comic book to the character in the Arrow tv series. Without it, is is merely editors Sherlocking their way through an article, and we can't do it. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 02:28, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are going to find that accusing a fellow editor of sloppy editing is sure way to leave your point unheard. I get it though - you're kinda new at this, and - judging from your nametag, you're a big fan of the show. There's some emotional investment going on.

That said, you need to put a more civil slant to your edits and edit summaries. I did check the sources - and they are not that great. I guess my judgment was clouded by the mountain of episodic cruft that was completely unnecessary to the section. I've retained the cited bits, and have excised the rest. Have a good day. I am by no means new to editing Wikipedia, and I do apologise for my previous edit summary for the article, fore I thought your actions reckless and rash. That being said, you are the one making it personal, by assuming and presuming. Wikipedia is not a place for opinion or bias, and I feel that your actions reflect both fluently. You have been reverted by no less than two editors, so now might be a good time to step back and reassess how your behavior is being perceived. When you call another editor's contributions "vandalism", you are expressing that opinion and bias you were talking about, and further characterizing them as reckless and rash doesn't help matters; it actually makes matters more difficult to resolve. So, if you need a moment to slow your roll, take it. We'll wait. However, the next time you come at me all rude-like, I'm just going to report your silly noob self. I hope I am making myself really, really clear. I don't mind new editors; I have notable problems with ones who think that the basic incivility of the internet works here. It doesn't, and I am but one of the very many editors who will drop kick you into Block Land for its next occurrence.

Now, with that bit or warning and awkwardness aside, would you care to point out why you think an entire edit summary from a tv show is required in an article about a comic book character? I'm not going to talk about how much detail should be on this page, specifically, because that's for the editors of this page to identify. That said, I can see why LLArrow would want to add more information on the character. It really isn't fair to say that the Live-Action section should basically contain little to no information on her appearance, when if you look immediately above that section you see big paragraphs for every Animated appearance. I don't think there should be any confusion of original research when it comes to saying that this is the Arrow version of the character. There are multiple sources (One from Entertainment Weekly, which isn't a "weak source") stating that it is Tastu Yamashiro, though she doesn't go by the name "Kitana" in the show. Removing the fantasy elements, it's also clear in the show that they are the same (e.g., same husband, same skill set, etc.). Given that the reasoning appears to have changed in the back and forth reverting, I'm not sure what the actual debate is currently about. If it's about inclusion period, I think there are enough reliable sources showing that this is who the Arrow character is based on. If the debate is about what to include on this page, I think the editors here need to figure out what is an acceptable length for all ancillary appearances, and keep it consistent, as you cannot allow for more detail in one set of appearances and not another just because someone feels like it's less of a real appearance. I completely agree with Bignole, and would also like to add that perhaps you should both take a step back and calm down a bit. Your discussion seems to have gotten a bit off track. I would also like to point out that, as far as I can tell, this discussion has already been started over at the Arrow episodes talk page, which you were involved in, so maybe you should complete that one before starting a new one, if there is really still debate over whether the TV adaptations are the same characters. - adamstom97 (talk) 08:01, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe there still is an active debate on the subject. The issue I take here is that I firmly believe that if the character appears on a series, the article should be updated with meaningful logs of her actions, on said series (just as there are for her animated appearances). I fail to see what makes Arrow any different. Katana's name is Tatsu Yamashiro, just as Clark Kent is Superman. I don't see any issue in the way it is worded now. You are saying "Tatsu Yamashiro" appears not "Katana" appears. That's the difference. You are not referring to her as Katana, but by her alter ego. If we were saying that Katana appeared on Arrow that would not be correct, because she hasn't. Yamashiro has. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:24, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

most recurring Outsider?[edit]

I think it should be worth mentioning that since Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Katana has become the most recurring member of the Outsiders (I mean, Beware the Batman, DC Super Hero Girls, and now Suicide Squad are just a few of her subsequent appearances in DC media adaptations) Visokor (talk) 07:55, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
