Birth year[edit]

There is a question as to Bock's birth year:

  • In a video interview she states an age of 25 in 2014 (27 in 2016), making it 1989.[1]
  • Sports Illustrated gives her an age of 22 in 2015 (23 in 2016), making it 1993.[2]

Marking the current sections as disputed.

She was born in 1987. In 2013, SI interviewed her best friend, who they said was 25 and said she has known Kate 20 years - since THEY were 5, and have been through everything (elementary school, high school, summer camps) together. @Cuberound: I rather tend to believe the source where she herself says she is 25 in 2014. Her friend can well have meant, "around 5". But as long as we have such conflicting sources, we need to leave it at "disputed". Zwerg Nase (talk) 08:31, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This girl posted that she graduated with kate bock. Click her contact, you get her full name in her email. Go to her linked in, you get her grad year. Kate is 29-30. @Cuberound: No, I am not telling you that I know how old she is. I am telling you however, that by Wikipedia's standards, we need a reliable source for her age. And some friend saying something in an interview that does not even point to a specific birth year and which contradicts a statement by the person in question from another source is not a reliable source. On a side note, yes, I do believe that she can be 18/19 in those pictures, which she would be considering her birth year is 1989 as she stated in the fashiontv interview. She might even be younger in those pictures. They tell us nothing about her age. Not a reliable source either. Pute speculation. And we are not a crystal ball. This is apparently still an issue, this time with [1] ("Kate Bock turns 22 today" at 30 Jan 2015 = born 1993) vs. [2] ("twenty-six-year-old Bock" at 13 May 2014 = born 1988). I have removed the birth date from the article for now. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 03:26, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
