If she was born in Illinois, and lives in California, then why is she in Category:Natives of County Cork? Widsith 17:13, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Can we get a picture of her here? I wanna know what she looks like!Loki at6 04:55, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Not likely; by all accounts, she's a very private person. There are actually a couple pictures of her floating around the Net (none recent), but I think it'd be better to respect her privacy and leave this page without a picture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.49.200.73 (talk) 15:33, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Notability

I'm not clear why a full-grown human--this woman--is presented solely through the eyes of her husband. Yuck! If she's just an extension of him, then she doesn't deserve a page of her own.

What on earth? Why would the co-creator of a number of really notable albums (including two Grammy winners) not be notable? If you insist, though, here's a page of nothing but Tom Waits being quoted by major news outlets about the effects of his musical partnership with his wife and her impact on his career: http://www.tomwaitslibrary.com/quotes-kathleen.html

I agree. She's clearly notable. What are the rules for removing the tag? --Camipco (talk) 10:08, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Came here to start a discussion on the same issue. She's fueled the Grammy-winning, undisputed musical legend Tom Waits since 1980 and has co-written damn near every one of his songs since the 90's. How is that not notable? --S-man (talk) 03:04, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

If all of that is true why isn't there a discography for her? why isn't the page set up like any other songwriters page? Why are there no sources other than those of interviews with or about her husband. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.34.81.75 (talk) 20:56, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

I was disappointed with this entry. I was reading notes on a Ramones album and saw this person is credited with writing the song "I Don't Wanna Grow Up". I came here to learn more about this person especially for, as mentioned, a sort of discography to find more works she's been involved with. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.196.47.118 (talk) 21:11, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

I am happy that the information presented in the article is accessible in one place. We don't know whether she would have been notable quite so much if she had not been associated or involved so much with her husband's work, so it seems perfectly reasonable to present the information as it is. It's too easy to slide from interest in the work of notable persons into shoveling around for minutae about them. Do we need to bolster our interest with information that is not particularly relevant to their work? The only thing that makes her husband define her is between the ears of somebody who thinks he does. We can be sure that there is a lot more to Kathleen Brennan than we might ever know through the work of herself or her spouse. Just as there is to each one of us. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.226.111.245 (talk) 21:34, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
