Requested move from Keane (band) to Keane[edit]

There seems to be no good reason for a minor pop group to sit in the main name space; as the dab page indicates, there are many Keanes, of whom a number are at least as well known as the band. User:Violetriga's moves to the current situation have provoked something of an edit skirmish, including cut-and-paste moves, so I think that the issue should be sorted out more formally. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:45, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, for the reasons give above. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:45, 21 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I created a disambiguation page specifically for the Keane page. I was more familiar with Keane referring to Robbie Keane or Mike Keane well before the band existed. Other users may feel the same way. --Madchester 03:08, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. A band can't be more important than a not rare family name. -Hapsiainen 18:39, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support'. See also "Bush", which does not direct straight to the band "Bush". 212.64.98.189 22:41, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

This article has been renamed as the result of a move request.

Changed this page[edit]

I have changed this page from: "Keane is the name of pop group" to "Keane is an Irish name" and here are some other keanes...

This is correct, the name came first and therefore comes first.
