Location[edit]

From the citation in the article [1] it seems reasonably clear that the house was roughly where the Kelvingrove skatepark is now, a little east of the bend in the river, around OS grid reference NS 570 662. This would be backed up by Jack House in his book Glasgow Old and New, 1st edition, plate 74, which shows the skatepark in the foreground and the University in the background.

This would mean that the statement in the article that the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum was to the south is incorrect: it would be due west, on the other side of what is now Kelvin Way.

Although the house's orientation is given as "east facing" it would seem more likely that it was parallel to the river, which at that point is ESE or even approaching SE. This could easily be approximated as "east-facing".

Can anyone clarify this? Exbrum (talk) 10:14, 3 October 2023 (UTC) Exbrum (talk) 10:14, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
