Military affiliation[edit]

This article currently does not make clear (until the very end) that Kerimov's involvement in the Soviet space program was from the military side, as compared to his civilians contemporaries like e.g. Sergey Korolyov and Vasily Mishin. Can someone provide a citable source for his military career, and then integrate that into the lead paragraph? (sdsds - talk) 00:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think this obituary from The Independent can be helpful: [1] Also I added to the article the link to Britannica article about Kerimov. --Grandmaster 05:12, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added the link to the obituary from The Independent to the article. I think it has enough sources for verification of all the info now. Grandmaster 07:17, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Religion[edit]

Someone changed it from Islam to atheism. I note that his name is a muslim name. And he's from a town of majority muslims. Faro0485 (talk) 04:58, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Atheists can have muslim names(surprise, surprise!). Number of Muslims in his hometown has no value--213.80.170.74 (talk) 03:04, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was as much Muslim as Yuri Gagarin was ardent worshiper of the Russian Orthodox Church. Incredibly stupid to define religion by name or city. Scientifically article isn't a good place to pan-Islamic ideas.--VVPushkin (talk) 22:43, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kerimov was a Muslim, but not a practicing one, like most Azerbaijanis in Soviet times. Grandmaster 11:11, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
