satoshi[edit]

this is factual: see Flickers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speakfromthesoul (talkcontribs) 15:28, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP - It's not sourced in any reliable media and this twitter makes no sense. What does this have to do with bitcoins? Evaders99 (talk) 02:25, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

it is signed by Satoshi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speakfromthesoul (talkcontribs) 13:24, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Speakfromthesoul, WP:BLP applies to all articles, even Key's article. Twitter by itself is NOT a reliable source. In fact, this seems to be USER-GENERATED information not found anywhere else (like Korea Herald, SBS News, even the third party sources Allkpop and Koreaboo doesn't have this "statement" about Key).
Unless you can PROVE in a reliable source that Key is in a "relationship", I'm considering reverting your edit as well (or just simply cut off that part in the article).
Also, for Evaders99, I can say you may revert that user's edit too for me if you wish to. I don't see any RELIABLE sources stating that "relationship".
Sincerely,
Tibbydibby (talk) 18:34, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

doesn't matter; i am satoshi; the generated data from me is more valuable that secondhand reports from some crappy music outfit Speakfromthesoul (talk) 17:05, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but then I can say that I'm Park Bom's boyfriend then if we go by your logic. But seriously, you need PROOF from Reliable Sources, otherwise it shouldn't go on Wikipedia. Tibbydibby (talk) 18:03, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of nicknames from infobox[edit]

I have removed the nicknames from the 'also known as' field of the infobox. The field is meant for alternate names used professionally and not covered elsewhere in the infobox. It is not for nicknames. According to the article he has used none of those names professionally, so please do not re-add them to the infobox. :) Shinyang-i (talk) 07:04, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Tibbydibby:, the infobox is already called "Key", so it is not necessary to also list "Key" in the alias portion of the infobox. That field is for alternate names used professionally and not already covered elsewhere in the infobox. Thanks for your diligence on keeping the article high quality! :) Shinyang-i (talk) 20:25, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Shinyang-i:- Thanks for letting me know, but Sunny also has the "Also known as" part of the infobox though listed as "Sunny"... I'm confused... Should either one of us cut that part out? This may also apply to Tiffany too... Thanks! Tibbydibby (talk) 20:32, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're correct for Sunny. Feel free to edit it. I don't see an issue with Tiffany. I'm just going through various kpop pages and haven't made it to most of them yet. ^^ Shinyang-i (talk) 20:39, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Multilingual talents?[edit]

"is known for his multilingual talents since he spent six weeks on an exchange in America." First, I don't see how Korea+America=multilingual. Bilingual, maybe, but what third language is being assumed here? Second, since when does a six-week exchange in a foreign country make someone "talented" at that country's language? it's certainly not the norm. Third, by whom is he "known" to be that way? Overall, the sentence is poorly-worded, unsourced, and sounds PR-ish. (Don't hate me; I love Shinee.) Shinyang-i (talk) 15:08, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Key's Signature[edit]

File: File:Shinee Key Signature.jpeg (add [[ ]]) I didn't know how to upload. Please upload if anyone of you can and it is able to use on Wikipedia. This is my first time uploading one, I am not sure whether can this picture be used on wiki. I tried and the pircture is very big. Tell me how to upload if you know. I read the wiki help section but i still cant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Primadonna & Elvis (talkcontribs) 11:31, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The file that you have uploaded is in a big file dimension. Furthermore, it isn't in the png format (it looks better this way, but there's no rule actually). No worries, we can wait for others to resize the image, and I could try uploading it later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Requiem II (talkcontribs) 00:05, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. I've uploaded a newer version in the png format. It can be found here: File:Key's Signature.png (add and ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Primadonna & Elvis (talkcontribs) 00:17, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded the file you sent in. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Requiem II (talkcontribs) 00:37, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Public Image[edit]

I'm trying to add more content for the public image section and I would like to know can sites like KpopStarz or blogs be used for this section? Cause, these are sites which normally give reviews related to fashion but some are unreliable per say to WP:KO/RS. I've found some sources and are unsure whether could they be used to add content: http://www.kpopstarz.com/articles/84833/20140322/k-pop-fashion-ace-shinee-key.htm http://blog.asiantown.net/-/15562/look-of-the-day-kpop-shinee-s-key-is-a-real-fashionista http://kultscene.com/k-pop-fashion-icon-shinees-key/ http://www.kpopmap.com/kpop-idol-with-fabulous-airport-fashion-shinee-key/

And I also think that the section should be renamed to something more broader/ wider like fashion. We then can expand on Key's fashion director role for Shinee, fashion magazine elle, his fashion style, and status as a fashion icon. Key also did some collaboration with fashion designers as seen from OFD and the moment, and we can also add DIY stuffs from MLT and Key's Knowhow (which proves that Key does not follow trends, but alter them to suit his style). However, already mentioned, there are not much reliable sources I could find to include those.

For now, I think we should stick to public image and try to expand it which might be difficult. If it's too difficult to add more content, we could rename it to something else so that more content can be added. If not, the public image section will look redundant with only two lines and there is not much content for it to stand alone as a section. What are your thoughts? Requiem II (talk) 02:57, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

just use the sources. g-dragon's page also use kpopstarz and is also a good article. i also think endorsments can be added in the renamed section as "key, which is chosen as a fashion icon..." it's not really a bad idea as we get to merge many stuffs together instead of keeping the page messy. the other ventures would be lessened. and what is MLT?PSY111 (talk) 03:42, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just because another Kpop article uses an unreliable source it does not make it right. More than 90% of Kpop articles are a mess. His page might be a good article like the one of Jay Park but nowadays the articles would most likely be removed from the list. Several users have worked very hard to clean up Shinee's page and the one of it's members and we should not start to ruin their work again. Like Requim II said there are not many reliable sources and till we find some we should find another solution. I would suggest a new section called fashion career.--Thebestwinter (talk) 11:08, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
MLT is My Little Television; Key had a broadcast on fashion as part of a segment. Requiem II (talk) 11:59, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

School Oz OST[edit]

Hi. I'm not sure whether has this been mentioned but why is school oz ost not included here? Key took part in most of the OSTs. There is a physical album, have articles online, music video and even highlight medleys released for this musical. So shouldn't it be mentioned here? I've checked the other pages of the other actors like changmin and there as well was not listed in his discography. Can I know the reason? source: http://osen.mt.co.kr/article/G1110335523 (mentioned that Key took part in the OST) 121.6.3.183 (talk) 14:22, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cooking certificate[edit]

I just came arcoss this news: [1] which states tht Key is preparing to become a Western style cooking specialist and aims to get a cooking certificate. Its actually in 2010 during the raising idol variety show but it also states that he is the first korean idol to try to pursue cooking. Can this be addded like under the career beginnings and after mentioning tht Key is in the program and also somewhere in the lead? Thanks you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.14.112.71 (talk) 08:16, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Honestly I don't see how it is relevant for the article? Key hasn't done anything in the field unlike the fashion industry. It is just a certificate, it's not like he is a cook with his own restaurant or something. Who knows maybe there are other users with a different opinion but I don't think is is necessary for the page.--Thebestwinter (talk) 19:07, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Songwriting[edit]

There is a songwriting section written but I think it is better to delete it, but instead create a table for songwriting credits. I've not seen any kpop idols' wikipedia page writing it in this way. Any opinions? 118.189.73.194 (talk) 06:55, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name at infobox[edit]

I was just casually scrolling through this page and I realised something peculiar at the infobox. It looks weird where the Korean name stated Key; shouldn't it be the stage name? I checked other similar articles such as Sunny (singer), D.O. (entertainer), and Kai (entertainer, born 1994). Should it be changed? If yes, can someone experienced change it because I tried doing it but it messed up the whole infobox instead. Can I have some opinions? Thank you!Requiem II (talk) 03:53, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 14 May 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 00:03, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Key (entertainer)Key (singer) – New Straits Times February 5, 2018 describes the Korean singer Key as a "singer". "Shinee singer posts sweet tribute to late bandmate" "Shinee singer Key has posted a sweet tribute to his late friend and bandmate, Jonghyun,". In ictu oculi (talk) 17:51, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Award-nominated as actor, so relatively equal between his singing and acting careers. "Entertainer" is fine. Dohn joe (talk) 14:55, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per reasoning above; he isn't solely known for singing Alexanderlee (talk) 16:03, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

apparent error: likely a misplaced hyperlink[edit]

I noticed that in the sentence "One year later, he appeared as a background dancer in the film Super Junior, Attack on the Pin-Up Boys" there are separate hyperlinks for Super Junior and Attack on the Pin-Up Boys. It appears that the Super Junior link is unrelated to any film, so that text and link should probably be removed. Attack on the Pin-Up Boys is a film title, and is probably fine. 50.46.220.98 (talk) 06:41, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I believe the intention was to state that Attack on the Pin-Up Boys is a film starred by all members of the Super Junior group, but it is written poorly and I believe that the movie's connection with Super Junior is irrelevant to this article. I will remove the Super Junior link. ViSampaio (talk) 11:45, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
