The Khanda is not a double-edged sword[edit]

Yes, Khandas are sharp on both edges, but not all Khandas can be considered double-edged. The strengthening plate (usually) goes over the majority of the length of the back edge, which means that the Khanda's only sharp for the top ~1/3 of the back edge. This makes the back edge a "false edge", similar to many clip point knives, some backswords, and some sabers like the Ottoman Kilij. Some Khandas don't have a strengthening plate that goes over most of the back edge, which does make these Khandas double-edged, but most do, which makes most Khandas single-edged.
