Title[edit]

Shouldn't this article be titled Murder of Peter R. de Vries? Someone Not Awful (talk) 08:52, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (violence and deaths), it should only be called "murder" when someone has been convicted for it. However, if there enough reliable sources that call it a murder then I think we should adopt that title per WP:COMMONNAME. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 11:41, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reading Swedish media about the Marengo trial, de Vries is described as a murder victim. The flowchart at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (violence and deaths), referred to above is not policy and explicitly says that COMMONNAME takes precedence.
