Page title[edit]

Kidnap and Murder of Indian Diplomat Ravindra Mhatre is too long-winded. How about Killing of Ravindra Mhatre? I prefer "Killing" to "Murder" in this instance, because it was a political killing. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:25, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm good with that. I'll move it now..E.M.Gregory (talk) 18:00, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks E.M. Unfortunately, the talk page got moved, but not the main page. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 18:20, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. I took care of the renaming. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:09, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@E.M.Gregory and Kautilya3: I know this is a bit late to bring to everyone's attention but there are guidelines for naming articles about KILLINGS. In this case, the perpetrators were convicted of MURDER, so Murder of Ravindra Mhatre would be the most appropriate name. Your thoughts? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:57, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Reliable sources call it "killing". It was political. So "murder" would be inappropriate, although in the legal context it has to be used. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:34, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Biography banner reinstated[edit]

I have reinstated the WikiProject Biography banner because the scope of that project also includes articles that are not biographies but includes substantially biographic material. This article started off as being a biographical article about Ravindra Mhatre, which now redirects to this article. Rather than having a new separate biographical article recreated from a redirect, the victim's biography is best placed within this article, under a separate section heading. The article already talks about the victim's career, kidnapping, ransom and murder, so would benefit from some more biographical details that might explain how these events came to happen and what reasons, if any, the perpetrators chose this particular person as a victim. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:29, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
