I've added the reference to the pub in Kilmahog back in. The hamlet is made up of a couple of houses, the pub and the woollen mills. You cannot describe Kilmahog without mentioning that there is a pub there as it is a local landmark. This is not advertising, it is a description of the hamlet.

i understand were you are coming from but i feel to include two links to the same website does make it seem like an advert! also can you not just say there is a pub as you have with the woolen mills? to link to the pub i think is too much as it is just a pub at the end of the day you seem to have one rule for your self and another for everybody else! i have removed the links to the pub which makes it look less of an advert

Please could you include your username in any Talk items you add so that this discussion can be tracked more easily? And please try to keep discussions civil. I drive through Kilmahog regularly and there is not much in the village (although the countryside is beautiful there). I looked this weekend as I drove through and I could only count four businesses; two woollen mills, the pub and the real ale shop. The woollen mills are both owned by the parent company Edinburgh Woollen Mill; nothing much here to write about except, perhaps, Hamish the Highland Cow which seems to attract the tourists. If anyone has information about him, then please add. The pub has a history in the village and should be included here in the description. It is part of the character of the place (e.g. precedent, see Brompton Road in London, which includes a reference to Harrods). There also used to be a microbrewery in the village, although this is not now producing; the real ale shop is on the site of the old microbrewery. The real ale shop is of interest to real ale enthuiasts and CAMRA members; it seems to be unique in the country in specialising in all Scottish real ales. I think the debate here is different to the Callander page, where the worry was that every business in Callander could add their shop to the list. There are no more shops to add in Kilmahog....the mention of these four businesses would appear to describe the full extent of retail opportunities in the village! I have added some info on the real ale shop for completeness and for the reasons stated above. Would welcome more discussion and to hear the views of others. Berjangles 11:30 BST 19th June 2007

Agree... and I think you've covered all of the businesses in Kilmahog there! Thebensteads
