I am interested in re-writing this article.

I work for a lab which studies comparative 'kinomics' and I feel that extra detail could be added here.

If anyone has anything to add please let me know. I do not have a phd and this will be based on my personal, albeit well researched, work; anyone with more experience or knowledge, please take a look and make sure I have not made any mistakes.

I added some references and moved things around a bit but did not overly want to alter the previous article. But I think that some parts like the use of kinases should be in the kinase article and not the kinome.
