Mention of mother[edit]

THOMPSON'S MOTHER? She gets no credit? A caucasian woman? It reads like his dad had the first male birthing.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.189.114.131 (talk) 03:01, 1 February 2016‎ (UTC)[reply]

Game 6 Klay[edit]

Basketball Reference is naming "Game 6 Klay" as one of his nicknames. Especially since 2016, that nickname is used in the context of big games with Thompson involved (whether it is actually a game 6 or not). The nickname is named in a subordinate clause in the section "playing profile", but shouldn't it be mentioned in the introduction of the article? --SdHb (talk) 16:45, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like it would only come up in the playoffs, perhaps only for Game 6s. Probably undue for the lead, at this point.—Bagumba (talk) 17:46, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Error, Eastern conference finals should be Western.[edit]

In the article it is stated “On May 26, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Thompson scored 32 points and had 8 three-pointers in a closeout 120–110 win over the Dallas Mavericks to advance to his sixth NBA Finals” it should be western conference finals, not eastern. 38.107.148.82 (talk) 00:45, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Thanks. —Bagumba (talk) 01:45, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Add the fact that "Klay Thompson is widely regarded as one of the best shooters of his generation" after "Klay Alexander Thompson (born February 8, 1990)[1] is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA)" in the first paragraph. You'll need sources that assess that he is "widely regarded" as such. What you have is just multiple authors calling him one of the greatest. For example see this for Tim Duncan: Ironically, that lack of a defining skill helped him become widely regarded as the greatest power forward to play the game.[[1]]—Bagumba (talk) 07:59, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This article states that he is "widely regarded" as such

As well as this article, which assesses his scoring ability and states him as one of the best three-point shooters in NBA history

I wouldn't consider metroleague.org a reliable source. With a subject as prominent as the NBA, mainstream sources should be available if the view is really prominent. —Bagumba (talk) 04:21, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally, you might consider expanding Klay Thompson § Player profile on this point, preferably with multiple reliable sources. Per MOS:LEADREL: Significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article... I don't doubt your statement. Actually, it looks like you should have permission to edit the article on your own (now?). So feel free to be bold and edit the page, but you're welcome to discuss further if you still have doubts. Best. —Bagumba (talk) 04:29, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
