Merger proposal[edit]

Keflavík ÍF, the article about the sports club of which the Keflavík Football Club is a subdivision from contains information (current squad and former players) that clearly belongs to the football club. This information is also available on this article, so not only is it not relevant information about the sports club Keflavík ÍF, it's also duplicate information.

I suggest to move the current squad and former players from Keflavík ÍF to this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeroenvdmeer (talkcontribs) 15:00, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

Where did the name "Keflavík Football Club" come from? It's not a name that's used anywhere apart from Wikipedia and sites that copy their info from here. It isn't even a proper translation of Knattspyrnudeild Keflavíkur – that would be "Football Department of Keflavík [ÍF]". This is just the football team that represents Keflavík ÍF, not a separate club so what is the point of having its own article? BigDom 07:39, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is probably the work of someone from Keflavík to differentiate between the basketball division and the football division. It would be better to call this article, and the other one about the basketball division, by the Icelandic name, that is, "Knattspyrnudeild Keflavíkur" here for example. Both articles (the basketball division and the football division) could work under Keflavík ÍF, but it would have to be properly arranged and well set up. Too often on the English wikipedia the football division of Icelandic clubs takes over the article. finval (talk) 10:35, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
