Accuracy[edit]

This article doesn't seem very neutral as it stands! I happen to quite like knightswood, it's not that depressing... 86.162.48.64 (talk) 19:05, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looking through the history, this comment was posted at a time when the site was vandalised. The site has since been returned to a non-vandalised state and information generally upgraded. Wikiwayman (talk) 12:17, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nice wee article! Glad to see the recent pictures of the Gala Day. -- 02:45, 28 July 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.192.215.43 (talk)

The opening paragraph stating one are is known as "Knightswood South or Scotstounhill" is completely wrong.

Knightswood South is the common name used for the area south of Great Western Rd, whilst Scotstounhill is used only to describe the smaller area that runs from Anniesland Rd over to Kirkton flats which even then is actually wrong. That is still Knightswood. Scotstounhill is the small area on the other side of the railway station of the same name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.154.86 (talk) 01:20, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quite right. There was some vandalism to the page a long time ago (see first comments) and this bit got mangled when the page was redone. I reverted wording back to 2008 which was broadly correct - please edit the introduction on the page if you can do a better job. Wikiwayman (talk) 20:14, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Street Names in Knightswood[edit]

Hi - there is a note which says the names of the streets are associated with the Knights Templar - in fact, every street in the original estate is from a name or word used in Sir Walter Scott's novel Ivanhoe - ie Rotherwood Castle became Rotherwood Avenue, Tabard, Curfew, Saxon, etc. The only exception was Baldwin Avenue which was named after the former Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin. I've also heard that story, but I've never seen a reliable reference for it. Maybe a contemporary newspaper article? Wikiwayman (talk) 09:29, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
