The title[edit]

"Kontroll" seems to be the most-used title for the film, and is the Hungarian name, though Control doesn't translate to Kontroll in Hungarian (irányítás). Move? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.163.9.18 (talk • contribs) 15:32, Dec 29, 2005 (UTC)

Bootsie/Gyalogkakukk (Road Runner)[edit]

In the english language subtitles (and on the english credit list on the website) the roadrunner character is called Bootsie. Should that be mentioned in the article or should it be left as Road Runner? In hungarian he's called Gyalogkakukk which is roadrunner in english. Odd. Jammus 13:29, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The setting[edit]

Saying the movie is "set on the Budapest Metro" is incorrect, despite the summary on the back of the North American DVD release. In the Hungarian release of the film (the North American release may have included this as well), the film opens with a statement by the head of the BKV, in which he stresses that the film is not set in any particular city or transit system. This is evident within the film as well: the locations are referred to with generic labels (Line 3, Platform 5, etc.), a map of the system shown in one scene bears no resemblance to the actual map of the Budapest Metro, and ticket inspectors of the real Metro don't board the subway trains like in the movie; they prefer to do checking at subway station exits. I feel like "Budapest metro" may be another way to say "Hungarian subway system." Yes, it might be technically wrong, and it would be more correct to say "shot on the Budapest Metro" in the wiki, but it's not much of a mistake. Furthermore, I wouldn't judge the setting of the movie based on the speech at the starting, because the speech is not really part of the movie.137.22.99.108 (talk) 00:54, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the disclaimer is overtly one for liability and reputation purposes. As I remeber, the representative essentially says we couldn't have allowed this movie to be filmed if it directly representated the Budapest metro, but it is a worthwile movie so it was allowed in this form. It does seem intended to represent where it was filmed, those style trains, etc. Obotlig (talk) 18:50, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
