"quadrennium" vs. "four years"[edit]

The word "quadrennium" has been removed from this article several times; I am putting it back.

I believe that this word belongs in this article. In gymnastics, as in other sports, it is a very specific term that refers to the four year period between Olympics. "Quadrennium" not only implies a specific duration of time, but also all of the politics, events and changes to the Code of Points therein.

The only known objection to the use of "quadrennium" is that it is a four syllable word and that perhaps the same idea could be expressed with a simpler term. As I have explained above, this is not the case. In addition, I do not feel that it is unreasonable to use a sports-specific term in an article about an athlete. I also feel that editors should not be forced to use the simplest possible vocabulary at all times.

  1. Please sign your messages here and on user Talk pages.
  2. The objection isn't merely that the word is long; it's that its meaning (in so far as it means something more than just "four year period") will be obscure to most readers. If that meaning is important, then it should be explained. I've said this already on your Talk page, but you delete my messages (despite advice from me and another editor that that's bad manners at best). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:56, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blarney! A typo![edit]

Hackettstown, NJ has two t's, while a town in Ireland has one. Lucky an easy edit because the word was internally linked. Cheers. Coryma 22:42 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Kristen or Kristin?[edit]

I noticed that her first name is spelled differently in different parts of this article. I'm not sure which is correct, so I am posting here so someone can check and revise the article accordingly. 173.85.54.246 (talk) 17:38, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
