Sourcing[edit]

The problem with recent edits such as these is that they rely on sources that are not considered reliable by Wikipedia. We simply do not permit use of primary sources in that manner because we deem ourselves not to have the expertise to interpret the things. Instead, we prefer secondary sources written by, for example, academics who do have the relevant expertise because it forms a part of their discipline.

Furthermore, Wikipedia has a policy of neutrality. This means that when reliable sources say different things we should show all of the variations, with care given regarding weight. It is not acceptable to remove some reliable sources just because you prefer the interpretation given by other such sources.

Finally, sources need to be cited in a manner that enables the reader to access the relevant content for the purpose of verification if they so desire. Just adding a list at the end of an article does not do the job. Please see WP:Citing sources. - Sitush (talk) 12:19, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
