Untitled[edit]

I'm looking for the Night World Series by L.J Smith if anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanx

(email adress removed)

Removed "of course" from "Some of the top sites include Twilight Tales, LJSChallenge 100 on Livejournal and of course Circle Daybreak." This is an objective article, not a place to whore a website.

Marked that the neutrality of the article is disputed. "Mutual fascination and adoration" are weasel words. "She will not give up the fight!" is too personal in tone for an encyclopedia article. "Today, she is writing full time and though she feels very nostalgic about teaching every fall, she still finds writing more fun" is a statement of emotion, which suggests that the author herself edited her Wikipedia article, which is bad taste. "L.J. Smith is today living in a rambling house in the Bay Area of northern California with one dog, three cats, and about ten thousand books! Since childhood she has been fascinated by the night and the way the ordinary world changes in moonlight. And though she makes no claims to psychic abilities, she is convinced that street lights go off at night when she passes by. Many of her books, including The Forbidden Game trilogy, are based on her own nightmares and those of her friends. At times she stops in the middle of a frightening dream and thinks, "This is awful! I hope I remember it when I wake up!". On warm summer nights, she watches the stars while deer feed on the hill sides by her house" is also far too personal a statement to be in an encyclopedia article written by someone other than the author.

note- actually i think although the author herself did not add that, it was included in some of the books as a short piece about the author. it seems likely whoever added that paragraph took it from one of the books. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rashelemmy (talkcontribs) 23:47, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the items that were disputed as being unneutral have been removed. The article seems to be fairly neutral to me now. Marvolosriddle (talk) 16:03, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Marvolosriddle[reply]

Since the NPOV warning is nearly a year old, all of the phrases objected to are gone, and another editor thought the article looked clear months ago, I've removed the NPOV tag.--SesanaP (talk) 16:26, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ljane?[edit]

Lisa decided against using the name in the middle of last year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.123.12 (talk) 21:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Did she really? Wasn't aware of that. Can you provide a link, please? 196.20.166.251 (talk) 13:52, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, sorry it took so long to get back to you. It's in her Amazon blog, at the bottom of this entry where she signs off:

Lisa (who has given up on Ljane. It just didn’t work. Nobody would say it with a straight face [I couldn’t see their faces when they wrote it.] So she’s back to plain old Lisa now)

Moved Ljane Smith back to L. J. Smith (author) and name fixed in articles. -Lily Redfern (talk) 15:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trimmed the links section[edit]

Because it was terrible. Links need to add some extra content to the article. Fanfiction, RPGs, and fanlistings are right out. I have some doubts about the one fan-run site I left on the list, but it looked like it had a fair amount of content above and beyond just relating what happens in the books. --SesanaP (talk) 16:16, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date and place of birth[edit]

I could not find her date and place of birth. Anyone know this? --79.198.117.106 (talk) 23:34, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation?[edit]

I daresay L.J. Smith the author is better known than L.J. Smith the football player, and so a search for "lj smith" should by default direct to this page rather than the football player's page as it does now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.233.80.251 (talk) 19:27, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Hunters books are not written by L J Smith[edit]

According to her website, L J Smith is forbidden to write more books in the Vampire Diaries serie, therefore the Hunters is written by a ghostwriter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.89.61.50 (talk) 23:25, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inactive?[edit]

Is Lisa even still writing? She hasn't published in a long time nor have I been albe to find any news on her promised future releases. Her own website seems to be outdated too. I hope she's okay and will hopefully still release the books many a people are looking forward to, but it almost seems too good to be true at this point... 81.24.100.74 (talk) 23:34, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think she retired very quietly because she couldn’t find a other publisher which’s an shame cuz Strange Fate and her other previous upcoming books are cancelled despite being ready in some publishing company’s vault collecting dust instead of getting sold. 2601:547:CC01:9090:D9AA:574D:24D0:EB42 (talk) 03:44, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
