Edit Request[edit]

NOTE: I’m proposing the following edits for FleishmanHillard on behalf of L3 Harris Technologies. I am a paid editor and aware of the COI guidelines. I’m submitting the following edit request to correct inaccuracies in this article. Our three proposed changes and related sourcing is below. Please let me know of any questions or comments as you review. Thanks for your time and consideration. Jon Gray (talk) 02:17, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

  • In early 2022, L3 Harris streamlined its business segments from 3 to 4 4 to 3, eliminating the Aviation Systems segment.[1] As such, we propose removing “Aviation Systems” from the list of Divisions in the infobox.

Business organization

  • In December 2021, L3Harris Technologies appointed retired Navy admiral Harry Harris to its board of directors.[2] As such, we propose updating the number of directors listed in the second sentence of the Business Organization section from 12 to 13.

Communication Systems

  • EOTech is no longer part of the company,[3] so we propose removing the second sentence (“It comprises divisions, including EOTech…”) from this section on those grounds.
@Jon Gray: Don't you mean "to 3 from 4" instead of from 3 to 4? --Ahecht (TALK

@Ahecht: You're correct, my apologies. They went from 4 business segments to 3 by eliminating Aviation Systems. Jon Gray (talk) 14:35, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request[edit]

NOTE: I’m proposing the following edits for FleishmanHillard on behalf of L3 Harris Technologies. I am a paid editor and aware of the COI guidelines. There were some recent leadership changes within the company that now render the info on the article outdated, so I’m submitting the following edit request to correct these new inaccuracies. There’s also a spelling error to flag as well. Please let me know of any questions or comments as you review. Thanks for your time and consideration. Jon Gray (talk) 21:23, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Since Kubasik has been serving as CEO since last June, it is not technically correct to include CEO in "On June 29, 2022, Bill Brown retired as Executive Chair and Chris Kubasik was named Chair and CEO of L3Harris." Ptrnext (talk) 06:10, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

---

Chris Kubasik was named Chair and CEO of L3Harris Technologies on June 29, 2022, following the retirement of Bill Brown as Executive Chair.[1] As such, I propose the following changes:

Infobox

  • Please remove Bill Brown from the Key People section of the infobox.
  • Please change Chris Kubasik’s title in the Key People section to read “Chair and CEO”.

History

  • Propose adding the following sentence to the end of the History section: On June 29, 2022, Bill Brown retired as Executive Chair and Chris Kubasik was named Chair and CEO of L3Harris.[2]
  • In the last sentence of the third paragraph, Kubasik is misspelled (“Kubasic”). Please update to read “Kubasik”.

Business organization

  • Given Brown’s retirement and Kubasik’s new title, I propose changing the second sentence of the first paragraph to read: “It is led by a 13-member board of directors, including L3Harris Chair and CEO Chris Kubasik.”[3]
  • I also propose removing the last sentence of this paragraph (“According to merger document…”) as this has now occurred.

Recent addition[edit]

Want to discuss a recent addition by an anon user, see below:

==Software Licensing Controversy==
L3Harris has been publicly posted as the Silver Inductee of the InstallAware Software Hall of Shame.[1] The company is alleged in an InstallAware Software Security Advisory[2] to be owing more than US$50,000 in unpaid license fees after an illegal license transfer following the acquisition of Harris Corporation by L3 Technologies, an allegation denied by L3Harris Technologies on the basis that InstallAware Software does not exist.

I'm just not sure how notable this is. The only sources are an incredibly obscure website and "Hall of Shame". Anyone else have any input? Does it really qualify for inclusion in the article? — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 21:13, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for removing that. It sounds like literal nonsense. I can not make out what it is even supposed to mean. It claims that L3Harris Technologies has made a statement on this subject but fails to provide any proof. If there is a Reliable Source that covers it in a way that makes actual sense then that could be considered for inclusion but not based on the completely incoherent blog of a company with a weird axe to grind. The so called "Security Advisory" is nothing of the sort. It is a whingey blog post claiming that various companies owe it money and a list of the email addresses of their individual employees which seems spectacularly misguided and not something we should be linking to. The IP is clearly editing on behalf of the company. They have drafts of articles about them and their products. I think the whole thing needs to stop. Both draft articles were short and spammy so I've put them both up for Speedy Deletion. DanielRigal (talk) 23:13, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention that their claims don't make any sense. It was a complicated merger, but if I read the documents correctly ultimately Harris acquired L3 and the combined company is incorporated under Harris's certificate of incorporation, so I don't see how that would be considered a license transfer. That's probably why the legal department gave such a flippant response and no third-party sources have picked this up. --Ahecht (TALK
