Some concerns[edit]

@Another Believer, I appreciate your work with this article. I have a few concerns though. This page is not really about 'LGBT culture' in Istanbul, at least not yet. A lot of this info can be subsumed into LGBT rights in Turkey, and are not really about the queer culture of the city (except for the businesses and organizations section), but rather are highly publicized public debates and controversies, which are better suited for that article. I also think that over-reliance on newspapers can be a problem here; they are often not careful about historicizing/narrative language and can be problematic. I understand that you are still expanding the article and might have other stuff to add, but the current state of the article caught my attention. Uness232 (talk) 18:13, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Uness232: I very much welcome your article improvements! I just wanted to get the ball rolling. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:14, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I don't have time to directly improve right now, but I'll revisit this article in two-three weeks; I just wanted to voice my concerns so that there could be a discussion on these things. Uness232 (talk) 18:21, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! I consider this a quick and easy start that could use expansion and refinement. Looking forward to your improvements. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:23, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
