Noted students

The list of noted students is unencyclopedic. I see anons are actively editing it. However I don't think most of these people are notable enough to be in an encyclopedia. Quarl (talk) 2006-01-16 06:16Z

I have tagged thsi article for cleanup to get some attnetion on this matter. Quarl (talk) 2006-01-16 21:34Z
I have removed the cleanup tag as the notable alumni issue seems to have been resolved. 71.246.25.218 03:13, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Sherurcij added the Noted Students section with one entry to Michael_William_Brescia, suspected to be involved in the Oklahoma City Bombing. Not wanting to have such a nefarious entry by itself, I added some additional noted students. The list has exploded since then. Perhaps it would be best to remove the section entirely. However, similar University articles have Noted Students, or Noted Alumni sections. Qswitch426 (talk) 2006-01-17

Perhaps a good criterion would be, only students/alumni with their own Wikipedia articles should be listed here. Quarl (talk) 2006-01-23 04:30Z

Lionel Simmons, a 3,000 point scorer and NBA player is missing!!!

LaSalle proudly had/has many Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter & Veteran students and their family members in the Evening Division, who were part-time students; as well as many full-time day students. To try to link LaSalle to the OKLA CTY bombing, through any alleged CI (Confidential Informant. i.e. "good guy") is unconscionable. Show he took more than a few courses at random, or delete the reference. Many students take random courses of interest at multiple educational institutions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.182.65.111 (talk) 06:00, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

All alumni are now featured on List of La Salle University people. Only people with a wikipedia page can be added. Some alumni are featured in the "Notable People" section in this page. All discussion regarding alumni should be on the new page. Lasalleexplorer (talk) 19:18, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Lasalleexplorer

SPL (Sigma Phi Lambda)

The link to Sigma Phi Lambda at the bottom links to the Nation Christian Sorority Sigma Phi Lambda, rather than a page about the local fraternity Sigma Phi Lambda. The link should be removed, it's kind of deceptive, and I'm sure somebody might take some degree of offense to it.

Thanks for the heads up. I removed the incorrect link and added the (local) modifier in the template. --qswitch426 11:17, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
I made this section a little more clear. Let me know if anything else needs to be changed. --Lasalleexplorer (talk) 19:19, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Lasalleexplorer (talk) 19:18, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

St. John Baptiste De La Salle with a student statue

There is a proposal to delete the La Salle statue picture due to a possible copyright violation. Does anyone know who did the statue, and if so, is it still under copyright? --Mblumber (talk) 17:42, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Owen Wister was completely omitted from this LaSalle wiki. Wister Farm, Wister Woods gave Urban LaSalle its suburban feel. Classes held there, too. "The Mansion" on the border of the Wister Estate, was a non-entity of little historical significance compared to the Wister Estate by the 60s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.182.65.111 (talk) 05:42, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

New edits, Jan 2017

Hi all,

I took the time to expand this article since it was rated substandard. There also has been minimal activity on this page in the last couple years.

In the past week, I added subheaders "Incoming students" and "Rankings" to the Academic header. In Campus, I moved the header "Expansion and Master Plan" to its own *subheader*, where I thought it fit much better. I changed the subheader's name to "Expansion". Under Student Life, I added the "Student-run media" section as well as the topics below it. I also added more to the Greek life section, including tables. I wanted to make this page more like Saint Joseph's University, which makes good use of tables and other wiki tools.

Please let me know if I made any typos or errors. Any erroneous mistakes are completely unintentional. Just trying to make this page better and help out the community!

may I ask, if you have the facility to offer distance learning as part of your college activities?

Kind regards
