Name change

This article should not be called La Vie en Rose. As the introductory sentence makes clear, this is just the American name for the movie. Wikipedia is not an American encyclopedia; it should not take as it's default the American names for movies when these differ from the names used elsewhere in the English-speaking world. BTW, I'm American, so this has nothing to do with nationalism or anti-Americanism. If it happens that La Vie en Rose is the name used around the world for releases in English-language areas, then the title is acceptable. If, however, it simply happens to be the name used in the USA or a handfull of other countries, the article should be redirect to La Môme. Interlingua ^{talk email} 14:45, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree. I wonder if it perhaps confuses some people that both the original French title and the 'English language' title are both in French? Anyway, the article should be called La Mome and it should be a redirect from 'La Vie En Rose'.86.141.145.124 15:59, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

The name La vie en rose is very similar to the title of the film Ma vie en rose, which has a redirect to this film for those who are interested in the one about Edith Piaf. Shouldn't there also be a redirect at the top of THIS article to the other one about a transgender child? Disambiguation suggested.Anonnymos (talk) 07:22, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

In the movie it was usually translated as "the kid." Louis Leplée nicknamed her "La Môme Piaf," or kid sparrow (due to her short stature). And, by the way, I agree that the article should be moved to "La Môme (film)" and this page should be redirected to it. Hashashin (talk) 06:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

The title in the UK was also La Vie en Rose, not La Môme. I can't speak for any other countries, but I have the British releases of the DVD and CD, and they are clearly labelled La Vie en Rose. If the standard Wikipedia policy is to use English-language titles, the article should presumably stay as it is. Thorf (talk) 08:17, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

This article took its plot summary directly from the trailer

This plot summary is just an ad.

I have substituted it with a very sketchy and brief plot summary, just to get rid of the paragraph which, as you pointed out, is lifted directly from an advert, and of little substance. It is quite a hard movie to give a plot summary of given the nature of its narrative, which jumps about all over the place. Amy Winehouse?

There is a part in the film, the scene after Louis Leplee invite Piaf to audition in his cabaret on the street and before Albert extorts money from Piaf, where a performer who looks an awful lot like Amy Winehouse sings a song. Can anyone clear this up? Does Mrs. Winehouse have a cameo role in the film and what was the song that was sung?

UPDATE: The song is apparently called "Fascination" and sung by Maya Barsony. Does anyone know the name of the actor?

Capital R in Rose in the title

Any reason why this isn't called "La Vie en Rose (film)"? That's how it's referred to everywhere else in the article. -- JackofOz (talk) 00:21, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

The question is whether an English work of art with a French-language title should follow the capitalization rules of English or of French. The same issue arises at Talk:C'est la Vie (radio). I raised this point at Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2010 June 27#MOS guidance wanted - capitalization for title of English work with French title. Mathew5000 (talk) 22:07, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

I don't know if anybody still follows this discussion after more than ten years, but for the sake of new readers, the original issue wasn't what kind of capitalization to adopt, necessarily. It was about the consistent use of one capitalization throughout the article. Right now the title of the page uses one capitalization, and the first line of the article uses another. Her daughter

Film's nationality

This film, in the past few months,
has gone from being French, Czech, and British,
to being and Canadian.
No references before, and none now.
I'm Canadian; we usually know which movies are ours. I don't recall any such comment in regards to this one.
What should this actually be?
