Monterey Historics[edit]

I'd like to have a page for the Monterey Historics. I can contribute by providing the annual featureed marques. 67.188.172.165 21:56, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

anyone need any pictures?[edit]

I am going to be at the track later this week, anyone need any pictures?

Probably way too late (your comment's undated), but the article's picture of the corkscrew is not too helpful -- no one who hasn't seen it can tell what's going on from that fisheye (probably about 8mm) view, which loses all sense of depth. A good picture, from any source, of the corkscrew, showing the dramatic elevation change therein, would really spice up the article. atakdoug (talk) 11:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speed World Challenge[edit]

The website's schedule does not list it. You indicate it as a "support race", so I suppose that indicates its insignificance. The Trans Am Series was, upon its discontinuation, at the same level as Grand Am. I suppose the only major sports car league the racetrack has lost is Trans Am. 76.126.15.78 (talk) 02:03, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TransAm was a support series as well. 2 of the 5 major events held annually at Laguna are headlined by major sports car series. There is no trend of sports car races being removed. Kenhullett (talk) 02:08, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A look back at Laguna Seca[edit]

This site has an interesting look back at some of the changes to Laguna Seca raceway, written by someone who has been going since he was a kid. Is this something that would make a good external link addition, or would it work better as a reference in the section discussing the track changes? (I've never added a reference so I'm not sure if I know what I'm doing...)

Could someone clean up my Rolex Sports Car Series table? Thanks. 76.126.15.78 (talk) 19:13, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Laguna Seca in games[edit]

Laguna Seca is/was not part of games like NASCAR Racing 2003 Season or rFactor unless the player downloads an unofficial user-made replica of it. Those copies of the tracks are most likely not funded or sponsored by Laguna Seca, unlike Gran Turismo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.103.55.72 (talk) 03:30, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that my comment about Star Wars: Episode I Racer was removed because of a lack of google hits. It's true, I don't have a source, but it is plain from the image in the pre-race selection screen that the two tracks are identical in layout. Maybe someone who still owns the game could get a screenshot? I'm going to restore it, since I think it is a valid appearance of the racetrack in a video game.Sheavsey33 (talk) 01:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Without a cite it's original research. It doesn't matter if "it is plain from the image". 128.114.59.182 (talk) 00:36, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lap record[edit]

I think the lap record time was set by the Chaparral 2J at 58 seconds. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Moss250f (talkcontribs) 14:20, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The lap record showing in the infobox is the "unoffocial" one. Surely we should have the official one or ideally both? danno_uk 13:29, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
USA has a different standard as to what constitutes a lap record compared to virtually everywhere else. I'd support a change to the official lap record, if with a citation it could be confirmed which lap is the official record. --Falcadore (talk) 07:42, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete History[edit]

It may not be as interesting as facts about the track, cars & drivers, but a glaring omission is the mention of any of the individuals connected with SCRAMP who were/are responsible for founding and nurturing the raceway through the years.

Laguna = lagoon[edit]

“Laguna seca" means “dry lagoon”, not “dry lake”. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:584:C200:29F9:E5E1:2F87:75A9:DA01 (talk) 17:57, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Needs mention of 1996 track length change[edit]

The article mentions the significant change of 1988, but has no mention of the change in 1996. Turns 10 and 11 were relocated and reprofiled in order to extend the length of the pit lane (and thus also the main straight). I recall from my time as a journalist there that this slight increase in track length had resulted in the Superbike teams scrambling to figure out new gearing as they were hitting the rev limiter on the main straight. I'm sure someone out there can find a reference to that change for citation purposes. The new Turn 10 comes sooner and doesn't have as much of a dip to it. The new Turn 11 is less acute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.141.232.215 (talk) 18:03, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this page have an advertisement in the title[edit]

Other circuits don't have sponsor names in the title. The Indycar page doesn't have it. Nor various other pages. So why this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dqeswn (talkcontribs) 09:06, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
