LKN Vurē and MTA Vureas[edit]

Are they, by any chance, related via a PTB etymon *Vurea[si], where the LKN form is from *Vurea and the MTA form from *Vureasi? Kwékwlos (talk) 22:08, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This wouldn't work: *vurea would yield **[βurɛ] in Lakon, not [βurɪ]. (And also, obviously, the places are different.) ‒ Womtelo (talk) 22:42, 24 January 2022 (UTC).[reply]
A bit late, but the chart given by Francois (2005) indicates all the possible protoforms: *vurie, *vuria, *vurio, *vurei, *vureu, *vuroi, and *vurou. If we can find cognates, we could reduce the possible protoforms. Kwékwlos (talk) 00:31, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
