The result of the move request was: move. DrKiernan (talk) 13:35, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lalun (horse)Lalun — No other use of "Lalun" on Wikipedia. I don't see why we need a dab page for one blue link and one red link, but if we do then it should be moved to Lalun (disambiguation). PC78 (talk) 14:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes. The horse article is a stub and the subject is obscure and long dead; the populated places are extant. Articles about the populated places seem more likely to become substantive articles. 69.3.72.9 (talk) 16:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • The fact that they don't have articles suggests that they are more obscure than the horse, not less. PC78 (talk) 16:58, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not at all. The horse article is from a list that was imported to Wikipedia. Place names also tend to get added here in bulk, from gazetteers. And we all know that much of the early content here was USA-centric. There may even be other notable racehorses named Lalun, registered in other countries than the USA. 69.3.72.9 (talk) 17:23, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nonsense. The fact is that those places don't have articles, they don't appear to be major settlements, and as such are highly unlikely to be known by the average reader. The horse is at least likely to be known to horse racing enthusiasts. PC78 (talk) 18:01, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I haven't been anything less than civil with you. PC78 (talk) 08:22, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I see you are being nothing less than civil in your disagreement, yes. PC78 (talk) 08:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the move per nom but please keep the dab page. Those searching for the places listed should not be confronted only with the horse page. — AjaxSmack 02:42, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Lalun is a given name, including the name of a central character in the Rudyard Kipling story On the City Wall. There is also the Lalun Formation, the lowest member of the Early Cambrian Sauk sequence. 69.3.72.9 (talk) 19:03, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You could list a million thing called Lalun, but none of them have Wikipedia articles. PC78 (talk) 08:24, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
