Fair use rationale for Image:Cardlogo.gif

Image:Cardlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Article Cleanup

Ive removed the tag that has been in place since March 2007. The article is not significantly different from any other Texas State University System page, certainly not enough to merit the tag. Coordinate error

"Doppler effect" during football games?

In the section about LU traditions, the article claims that the "L Yell" somehow achieves the Doppler effect by everyone screaming in order to intimidate the other team.

The Doppler effect is the change in the pitch generated by a moving entity as perceived by a standing entity--e.g., a guy hearing a car rush past. The movement causes each newly generated sound wave to be generated in a different position than the previous, so as the entity moves, sound waves in front of the entity sound to be at a higher pitch and those after sound to be at a lower pitch.

None of this has anything to do with a lot of students screaming in a football stadium. Nothing is moving.

College of Arts and Sciences

We'd like to request that the Lamar University section for the College of Arts and Sciences be updated with the following. The new content reorders the fields of study and adds these sentences to explain there are degree programs but also areas of concentration within those degree programs. "There are many programs that students can choose as concentrations that will prepare them for professional careers. The College of Arts and Sciences are spread out through nine buildings across Lamar University’s campus." We also request that the 2012 information about the nursing school ranking in U.S. News and World Report be removed as it is clearly outdated. The College of Arts and Sciences houses a wide variety of Lamar’s academic programs. Fields on study include but are not limited to: Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space Science, English and Modern Languages, History, Mathematics, Nursing, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice. There are many programs that students can choose as concentrations that will prepare them for professional careers. The College of Arts and Sciences are spread out through nine buildings across Lamar University’s campus.

The College is home to the JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing. The School of Nursing consists of BSN and MSN degree programs. These programs have recorded a nearly 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam, a national exam required to receive a license to practice.

You should also note that if content is added, it must be written in a way that is neutral, rather than sounds like it is promotional and belongs on the college's website rather than in an encyclopaedia.
