Previous articles for deletion discussion[edit]

This article was nominated for deletion on 19 July 2006, and the result was delete. The nominator said it "[r]eads like an advertisement, and has only one or two contributers." It did. It was written in first person.

The new version of the article is substantially different enough from the old one that I feel that it is not recreation of a deleted article, so speedy delete criterion G4 does not apply.

That said, the article does not cite independent reliable sources, so it could be nominated for a new AfD. —C.Fred (talk) 03:57, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Dissatisfied with the options…"?[edit]

The following sentence has been added and removed repeatedly from the article:

Dissatisfied with the options of Greek organizations available at their school, they created Lambda Tau Omega also known as Latinas Together as One, to bring more awareness to the lack of minorities within the campus.

I see a number of issues with this sentence:

  1. There is no reliable source to support the assertion.
  2. Is "Latinas Together as One" the valid symbolism of the name?
  3. Did they form the organization to get awareness, rather than just to seek their own version of sisterhood?
  4. If that was a purpose, was it to bring awareness of the lack of minorities on the campus, or was it to bring awareness of the lack of organizations for minorities on campus?
  5. If all of this can be verified, does it really belong in the introduction, or should it be deeper in the article?

To me, the lack of sourcing is the deciding factor: no source, no inclusion. And yes, I would accept a primary source, like LTO's website, in this situation. Even if it were sourced, I'd think it would fit better in the history section. Can I get some other perspectives on this? —C.Fred (talk) 23:24, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
